The £60mn vCJD compensation trust fund
is now established, with payments to start before year end following payments of £25,000 already made to most families from
the interim trust. Initially intended to provide sufficient funds to compensate up to 250 deaths, the scheme will be reviewed
in the light of vCJD development.
