Before-the-event insurance
The Court of Appeal has ruled that, while use of existing before-the-event (BTE) insurance is preferable, in certain circumstances
a claimant may recover additional premium paid for after-the-event (ATE) cover – though the ruling was tempered by reference
to a top claim value of £5,000 and no conflict of interest between the parties.
