Financial Regulation International
Dark leadership within the finance industry and corporate governance
Introduction
Marshall Taylor
The financial system is known to be in an unending cycle of boom and bust. Every time this happens, it appears to be the failings
of a select few who make it to the top of a corporation that derails the financial system. While there are always outliers
at the top, this article theorises that the type of people who make it into these top corporations possess a form of corporate
psychopathy that makes them and their actions inherently unstable. This form of psychic is set out in alternative literature
often focusing on failed forms of management structures and how employees should avoid working for these companies. Yet, it
has rarely been applied to the financial services industry and around financial regulation.
