TWA loses coverage dispute

The Missouri Court of Appeals has ruled in favour of Lloyd’s and London market insurers that Trans World Airlines (TWA) is not entitled to cover for pollution found in the 1980s at the Kansas City maintenance base. TWA, ordered to clean up at a cost of US$30mn, claimed the pollution was accidental and sought to recoup from its insurers.
