No setoff of windfalls

Needler Financial Services and its insurer Collegiate Insurance Services have dropped plans to appeal a ruling that windfalls cannot be offset against compensation for misselling of pensions. Already liable for the costs of pensioner Ronald Taber’s £170,000 legal fees ( Needler Financial Services and Another v Taber ), appeals for industry backing have not produced sufficient support.
