Indirect discrimination regulations

The Sex Discrimination (Indirect Discrimination and Burden of Proof) Regulations 2001 comes into force in October this year, extending the scope of existing legislation to cover noncontractual discriminatory practices and reversing the burden of proof (of innocence) on to employers where, for example, the claimant was able to establish facts raising a presumption of discrimination.
