Rail safety
The report for the three months April to June of this year from industry safety body Railway Safety shows a further increase
in SPADs (signals passed at danger) to an average of two per day. Recently the Rail Inspectorate warned that initiatives to
cut SPADs ‘may well have reached their limit,’ and called for new technology and training programmes.
