Dry ice in the hold

Following an incident in which a crew of a Douglas DC-8 cargo aircraft almost suffocated, the US National Transportation Safety Board is pressing the Federal Aviation Administration to carry out tests on safety aspects of widely used refrigerant dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) in various types of cargo aircraft holds.
