Rescue package for Chester Street’s liabilities
The Association of British Insurers has now set in place the insurance industry financed £5mn rescue package. It is designed
to cover 90% of the value of those pre-1972 asbestos injuries, unpaid as a result of the insolvency of Chester Street, that
do not fall to the Policyholders’ Protection Board (PPB).
