New US Ocean Shipping Act

The US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation has approved a bill relating to the Ocean Shipping Reform Act. The bill provides the Federal Maritime Commission with greater authority and rule-making ability over certain practices by international ocean shipping companies, such as detention and demurrage fees and services offered to American exporters.
