Sex offenders’ counselling by prison officers led to ‘catastrophic psychological consequences’. Geoffrey Mindell and Barry Bigby had only one week of training before being deployed to the Sex Offender Treatment Programme at high-security Albany Prison. The work involved one-to-one therapy sessions, including listening to fantasies and taking part in role play.
