‘Secondhand’ asbestos award
An Australian woman, Winifred Brennan, has been awarded A$370,000 in respect of mesothelioma contracted while washing her
husband’s asbestos-laden workclothes. In the past few months three other women have also won settlements from building products
giant James Hardie Industries.
