An American woman, Rosalie Talbert, has won a jury award of US$13mn (US$12mn of which punitive) in respect of a stroke she suffered, alleged as a result of using diet drug Amp II Pro. Produced by E’ola Products, it is thought to contain the stimulant ephedrine. To be appealed.
