Premium freeze to EC court

The European Commission is referring Italy and Greece to the European Court of Justice in respect of the freezing of civil liability motor insurance and – additionally for Greece – difficulties put in the way of non-Greek insurance companies offering breakdown assistance cover. These measures are seen as incompatible with the Third Non-Life Directive on unrestricted marketing of insurance products in the EU.
