Tobacco update

Johns Manville case declared a mistrial. Significant not only for the US$4.6bn sought from the tobacco industry but as the first of a backlog for trial before Judge Weinstein in federal court, Brooklyn. The judge has been urging all sides to reach settlements, which would effectively end all major lawsuits against the tobacco industry, though so far with little success.
