Suppliers’ duty of care

Where a supplier of petrol unlawfully sold it to a person under the age of 16, the supplier owed that young person a common law duty of care to prevent him having control over the substance. This is allowing a claim for injuries suffered when a 13-year-old accidentally ignited the fuel.
