IP is a valuable, intangible asset of a business. Youexpend time and money developing and registering it; you think carefully aboutit in contracts and transactions; you leverage its value when raising money;you haggle over its price when licensing or buying it. Unfortunately, sometimesyou have to enforce your IP, or defend against IP infringement allegations madeagainst you. In either case, the process is usually confrontational andstressful. It always absorbs management time and incurs costs, but you canexercise a lot of control over the process and your financial exposure. Belowwe consider why the UK is an ideal destination for IP litigation in Europe,particularly because of its cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and impact.
