LA PALMA ERUPTION FORCES EVACUATIONS
Almost 200 houses and buildings have been destroyed so far by the ongoing eruption of the Cumbre Vieja ridge on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa. At least 6,000 people have been evacuated from the area so far and authorities have warned more people might have to be moved due to toxic gases from the eruption. It is not known how much of an insurance bill will come from the eruption. However, Spanish insurer Axa Seguros has been encouraging its clients to contact it quickly with any claims so they can be swiftly settled.
