Everglades payments
Families of the 110 people who died in the 1996 ValuJet crash in the Everglades have received at least US$262mn in compensation.
These payments, made to all but two families, came from insurers;
Lloyd’s (as SabreTech’s insurer) US$151mn, and US$111mn from United States Aviation Underwriters in respect of ValuJet.
