Subject Asbestos claims to be heard in England

Result Although South Africa is the most appropriate forum for a 3,000-strong claim for asbestos injuries sustained in that country, the lack of means for plaintiffs to obtain appropriate legal assistance in that country would defeat the cause of justice. Hence, the case against the UK-registered company should be heard in the English Courts. [See Asbestos update.)
