Court outcomes wrongly recorded
A review of 1,500 sample cases by the Crown Prosecution Service inspectorate found that over 8% of magistrates’ court results,
and almost 5% of those in crown court, were wrongly recorded by the CPS. Applied nationally this indicates almost 120,000
errors. The CPS blames lack of training for poor record keeping.
