Deliberate contamination of Meuse
Toxic chemicals were poured into a stream leading into the River Meuse in northern France. This was by workers laid off from
the Cellatex textile factory in Givet. On a sit-in, they have also threatened to blow up the factory unless given generous
severance payments.
