A report from the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee shows that victims of violent crime wait for an average of eight months to receive compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. The report, Compensating Victims of Violent Crime , goes on to show that a number can – with appeals – run for two years or more.
