KEMPER NAMES CHIEF EXECUTIVE LACHER TO ADDED POST OF CHAIRMAN

US multi-line insurer Kemper has named president and chief executive Joseph Lacher to the additional role of chairman of the board. As chairman, Lacher succeeds Robert Joyce, who has shifted from the role of non-executive chairman to independent lead director. Lacher joined Kemper as president, chief executive and director in November 2015. Prior to that, he served as president of Allstate Protection, overseeing its property/casualty business. Prior to Allstate, Lacher served with Travelers Cos for 18 years, ultimately as executive vice-president of personal lines and select accounts.
