MoD pays out in hand accident

The Ministry of Defence has admitted breach of duty in a case involving a soldier who lost a hand in an accident in 1999. The soldier was serving in Bosnia when his hand was torn off after being caught in machinery. He was discharged on medical grounds, and claimed that he received no support after his discharge.
