Hep C contracted after operation

A patient has received £20,000 in compensation after contracting hepatitis C in hospital after a back operation. It was revealed that a female patient with hepatitis C was operated on shortly before the claimant. Prior to being infected with the disease, the man was trying to start a family, but he is now unable to in case his wife becomes infected with the virus.
