Government indemnifies tube bidders

The government is providing £2bn indemnity to the bidders for the London tube operations against legal action. The indemnity is a counter to threats of legal action from London Mayor Ken Livingstone. Tube Lines Group and Metronet are both expected to take over infrastructure contracts early in 2003.
