Limitation lifted for one year

For the year 2003, California has lifted the statute of limitation for actions for sexual abuse, these being brought mainly against churches and other institutions. In a separate move, the Archdioceses of Los Angeles and of Orange County are now in negotiations with attorneys of around 100 abuse claimants. They are believed to carry US$150mn insurance coverage.
