EU insurers’ asbestos info inadequate

A US analyst has warned that European Union (EU) insurers should provide their shareholders with better information on their asbestos exposures. The current disclosure was described as limited, patchy and inadequate, and much worse than that provided by US insurers. In addition, US insurers have taken much greater action on reserves. The analyst pointed out that US claims could possibly reach £200bn.
