First tranche of obesity suits fall, but…

A New York court has rejected a suit alleging injury to children through obesity from eating hamburgers and suchlike foods. Replacing the suit of adult Caesar Barber, teenager Samuel Hirsch was the lead case alleging that McDonald’s lured children in through play-grounds and ‘kids’ meals’ and violated New York state consumer fraud statutes by misleading customers into believing the products were healthy and nutritious and failing to warn of risks such as diabetes.
