Epilepsy misdiagnoses

A report by Dr Allan Coe, medical director of the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in association with the British Paediatric Neurology Association, has found that consultant Dr Andrew Holton misdiagnosed nearly one third of those children referred to him (over 600 in all) as suffering epilepsy. Under suspension for nearly two years, the Trust has taken action to prevent reoccurrence.
