Head injuries in field
A trainee riding instructor has been awarded £495,000 damages for severe head injuries sustained in a field of horses owned
by a stables. She was collecting horses from the field, and was found an hour later unconscious. Events leading to injury
are uncertain. She has communication problems, a changed personality, epilepsy and tinnitus. The claim for £660,000 was settled
on the basis of 60% liability on the part of the stables.
