Ehime Maru salvage costs

The recently-completed cost of salvaging Japanese fishing vessel Ehime Maru , sunk after collision by the submarine USS Greenville , could well equal that of recovery of the Russian submarine Kursk. The US is to pay US$60mn for the raising by salvor Smit Tak International, which is also due to receive US$65mn from the Russian government for the raising of the Kursk.
