10.9% rise in health service complaints
The Department of Health attributed almost 10,000 patient complaints about hospital and community health services, 10.9% up
on the previous years, to its policy of encouraging complaints so as to reveal poor practice. Complaints about GPs and dentists
rose by 12% to 44,442.
