H J Heinz, in a court settlement initiated by consumer advocates, will ensure all bottles of ketchup sold in California contain at least 1% more than the amount stated on the label. This is to allow for that last drop that just will not come out! This is estimated at more than 78,000 gallons a year, valued at US$650,000. ‘It’s a whole lot of ketchup,’ said Los Angeles County deputy district attorney Thomas Papageorge.
