Complaints against the UK’s police rose by 3% in the past 12 months, of which 9% were substantiated on investigation. Home
Office figures show that more than half related to failure in duty, 27% oppressive behaviour, 5% malpractice and 1% racism.
There were 115 officers dismissed or required to resign, less than in the previous period.
