RAMGE TO STEP DOWN AS NEBRASKA INSURANCE DIRECTOR
Nebraska insurance director Bruce Ramge has announced plans to retire on April 9 after 11 years in the post. Governor Pete Ricketts said Ramge helped promote growth of the state’s insurance industry and transformed the state’s regulatory platform into a model for other states. “Under Bruce’s leadership, Nebraska has gained a reputation for having fair and consistent insurance regulation,” Ricketts said. During Ramge’s 11 years in the post, the insurance department enhanced transparency, improved customer service, streamlined processes and aligned state regulations with changes in both federal and international standards. Ramge joined the department in 1984 in its market conduct division and was named chief of market regulation in 1999, a year before being named director.
