No prosecution/inquiry opens

After a six-month police investigation, the Crown Prosecution Service has ruled out manslaughter charges in relation to the 31 deaths in the Ladbroke Grove rail crash due to ‘insufficient evidence’ and no realistic prospect of conviction of a company or individual. The lesser charge of ‘endangering the safety of railway users’ was also abandoned.
