Last year 7,000 postmen were bitten by dogs, with around 10% needing time off work to recover. One postman retaliated, kicking
the dog away (causing injury that led to its death). RSPCA action against Billy
Ace has been dropped due to his ill health, but it is offering training and advice to postal workers on how to deal with aggressive
dogs.
