Leader L: structural faults

Echoing the ongoing questions regarding the Erika , investigation into the loss of 18 lives and the sinking of bulk carrier Leader L on 23 March 2000, the worst bulker loss since 1998, indicates that structural faults had been known since 1998. Conflicting reports from crew (that they had reported big gaps between frame and plates) and flag authorities abound.
