Failure to prosecute unlawful

A first such judicial review has found that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) acted unlawfully in refusing to bring manslaughter charges against a company and its director on grounds of there being no reasonable chance of conviction. This is in relation to student Simon Jones, who was killed by a crane within two hours of starting casual dockside work for Dutch-owned Euromin.
