Compensation for worker’s suicide

The Supreme Court of Japan has ordered advertising agency Dentsu to pay compensation to the family of Ichiro Oshima, who killed himself after becoming depressed because of overwork. Overturning an earlier ruling, the court held that Dentsu ‘did not take measures to reduce the burden on the employee, although it was realised that his health was deteriorating.’
