Growth hormone contamination

Investigations into CJD infection of children in France, from unscreened growth hormone treatment (74 have so far died) indicate that a batch of hormone used in 1985, prior to safety checks, was found to be cancerous. While the chance of identification of victims (if any) is remote, this adds to the overall discomfort of the French authorities.
