Organ removal guidelines
The Royal College of Pathologists has issued guidelines on information to, and consent from, relatives prior to organ removal
and retention in postmortem examinations. This is in response to the revelations on widespread storage (2,000 hearts, 850
other organs) at the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, with details of others still emerging.
