Research by Prof John Hermon-Taylor of St George’s Hospital, London, suggests that MAP (mycobacterium avium, subspecies paratuberculosis) is responsible both for the wasting illness of cattle, Johne’s disease, and the incurable human bowel condition Crohn’s disease.
