Sri Lanka to amend IP laws to allow GI protection

Sri Lankan IP office has ‘put forward necessary changes’ and additions required to offer GI protection; Ceylon tea among the local products to utilise right once framework is in place

IP laws in Sri Lanka are set to be amended to provide enhanced protections for geographical indications (GIs), after the government reportedly approved the changes.
