AIPPI 2020: trade secret litigation increasing

Higher damage awards in China could deter potential infringers; issues across other IP rights are ‘forcing’ rightsholders to look at trade secrets as a new way to protect innovations

Trade secret litigation appears to be increasing, with countries looking to harmonise legislation around this often-overlooked area of IP, panellists at the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property’s (AIPPI) 2020 World Congress Online suggested.
