August sees number of major air crashes
The aviation market has seen a period of a relatively low level of losses, but this ended in August with a number of major
crashes. The first was the Air France Airbus A340-313 crash which landed in bad weather at Toronto Pearson airport. There
were no fatalities but the aircraft, valued at $131mn, was written off.
