Report on childhood cancer around nuclear installations

A report by the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment (COMARE) into the incidence of childhood cancer around nuclear installations in Great Britain, has said, in conclusion, “we found no evidence of excess numbers of cases in any local 25 km area around any of the nuclear power stations. This distance would include either primary exposure to radioactive discharges or secondary exposure from resuspended material.”
