Pressure building on insurers to abandon coal business

The squeeze on insurers underwriting coal projects is increasing on several fronts. A chorus of investors, regulators and environmental protest groups – as well as an increasing number of voices within the industry itself – are converging on remaining coal industry insurers, creating mounting pressure to follow those that have already committed to ditching providing cover for the dirtiest energy projects.
